Meyler set for new Cats deal talks

Irish starlet David Meyler, who joined Sunderland from Cork City in 2008, is set for talks over a new deal at the Stadium of Light.[LNB] The 22-year-old midfielder cost just £150,000.[LNB]He has battled his way through the ranks and has now started five Premier League games this year.[LNB]His current deal is due to expire in 2011 but Steve Bruce is ready to reward his recent form with fresh terms.[LNB]And Meyler admits he is loving how things are going for him at the Stadium of Light at present.[LNB]"All I can do is see what happens. I'll keep working hard in training and try to take every opportunity I can," he said. "I'm just glad the team is doing well and we are all striving for one thing at the moment - to finish in that top 10.[LNB]"We have some top players here who I can learn from and all I want to do is take every game as it comes.[LNB]"It was great to win and get the three points on Saturday but the most important thing is the team played well.[LNB]"We're all looking forward to West Ham on Saturday. Hopefully we can push on there and get three more points."
