Meyler set for Black Cats return
David Meyler will be rewarded for his hard work with a first-team spot as Sunderland take on West Ham.
The gritty midfielder earns a recall for Sunday`s encounter having recovered from serious knee ligament damage picked up at Manchester United in May.
Manager Steve Bruce has confirmed he will include the Irishman in his matchday squad for the first time this season, with Meyler having trained well and come through three reserve-team matches unscathed.
"David is one tough cookie and has done brilliantly to get back within seven months," said Bruce.
