SUNDERLAND: Lee Cattermole faces a late fitness test on his injured heel ahead of today’s game at Turf Moor, but the combative midfielder is expected to be fit to start. Full-back George McCartney should also return to the starting line-up after recovering from the ankle injury he sustained on international duty with Northern Ireland. Kenwyne Jones will replace Fraizer Campbell up front after being relegated to the bench for last weekend’s win over Hull following his international exertions with Trinidad & Tobago.

BURNLEY: Former Sunderland defender Steven Caldwell will not be facing his previous employers as he continues to nurse a groin injury. Caldwell has not featured in any of Burnley’s matches this season, and will be sidelined again today. Fellow defender Michael Duff has returned to the squad after recovering from an ankle problem, but is unlikely to make the starting line-up despite last weekend’s 4-0 hiding at Liverpool.

It’s a fact: Burnley have not conceded a goal at Turf Moor since March 11, when they won 4-2 against Crystal Palace.
Comment by WILL SCOTT: This is kind of game Sunderland should be winning if they are serious about finishing in the top ten.
