Mancini agent denies Cats link

Roberto Mancini's agent claims he knows nothing of an approach from Sunderland for his client.[LNB] The Italian was quoted on Sunday as having received an offer from the Black Cats to become their new boss.[LNB]The ambitious North East outfit recently parted company with Rocky Sbragia and, in the wake of Ellis Short's takeover of the club, are keen to bring in a candidate of considerable standing.[LNB]It appeared that former Inter Milan coach Mancini had been indentified as the ideal choice, with the formalities of competing such a deal put in motion.[LNB]The ex-Italy international was said to be interested in the role, after 12 months out the game, while his arrival on Wearside would have helped the club to raise their profile across Europe.[LNB]However, Mancini's agent claims Sunderland have not been in touch and no agreement is in the pipeline.[LNB]Interest"Mancini is aware of those reports," he said.[LNB]"But we have not received an offer, nor have we been in touch with anyone from Sunderland."[LNB]Mancini has been out of work since leaving Inter Milan last summer shortly after leading them to a third consecutive Serie A title.[LNB]De Giorgis confirmed there was interest in his client from England but that no formal offer had yet been put to the 44-year-old.[LNB]"There has been interest from English teams but Sunderland is not one of them," he said.[LNB]"However, no official offers have been made."[LNB]
