Leadbitter completes switch

Skysports.com understands that Sunderland's Grant Leadbitter has completed his move to Ipswich, signing a three-year deal. The 23-year-old was keen to rejoin former Black Cats manager Roy Keane at the Championship club in a bid to find first-team football. Leadbitter has seen himself fall down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light following the summer arrivals of Lorik Cana and Lee Cattermole. As a result of the extreme competition for places the midfielder has started just one game under manager Steve Bruce this term which came in the 4-1 Carling Cup win over Norwich. It is all a far cry from his time under Keane when Leadbitter made 37 Premier League appearances, 19 of them starts, during the Irishman's 18 months in charge in the top flight. Leadbitter's Sunderland team-mate Carlos Edwards is also close to finalising his move to Portman Road.
