    Keane won't rush Edwards

    27 Sep 2007 - 13:04:38

Sunderland boss Roy Keane will resist the temptation to play Carlos Edwards in Saturday's clash with Blackburn Rovers following his recent hamstring problems.

The Trinidad & Tobago winger has been out of action for six weeks and won't be risked against Rovers or Arsenal seven days later ahead of a two-week international break.

The Black Cats' next game after the lay off comes with a trip to West Ham United on October 21.

"Carlos won't be available until after the international break," Keane told the club's official website.

"We can't be taking any chances, he's not quite right yet and it would be silly to try to push him for the sake of one game.

"He's not available for this Saturday and to try to push him for the Arsenal game would be madness.

"We're missing him already and it would be a massive blow if he was to have another setback.

"With the numbers we have, we're just about getting by."

Meanwhile, Keane has revealed that Nyron Nosworthy, who missed last weekend's 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough with a knee problem, could return in time to face Blackburn.
