    Keane snaps up Richardson

    16 Jul 2007 - 17:15:41

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has made Manchester United midfielder Kieran Richardson his fourth signing of the summer.

The 22-year-old England international moves to the Stadium of Light for an undisclosed fee after penning a four-year deal with the Black Cats.

Keane told the club's official website: "I'm delighted that we've been able to bring Kieran to Sunderland.

"Having worked with him in the past I'm well aware of what a good player and a good lad he is. He's ready for a fresh challenge and hopefully Sunderland will provide that for him."

Keane has also snapped up Greg Halford, Russell Anderson and Michael Chopra this summer as he aims to establish Sunderland in the Premiership.

Richardson, who made his name while on loan at West Brom in the second half of the 2004-05 campaign, added: "It's an exciting move for me. I know all about Roy Keane and I'm looking forward to playing for his team.

"Sunderland is a big club and it's a great move for me."

Richardson scored 11 goals in 44 starts and 37 substitute appearances for United and found the net three times in 12 games for West Brom.
