Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has agreed terms to become Sunderland's new manager.
The 35-year-old visited the club on Sunday and met with players and officials.
He is expected to sign a formal contract immediately after the Black Cats' Championship game against West Brom on Monday.
Keane will team up with former Republic of Ireland team-mate Niall Quinn at the Stadium of Light.
Quinn is the club's chairman and had been manager for the first five games of the season - all of which have been lost.
