Jones hopes for more signings

Sunderland striker Kenwyne Jones is hoping Steve Bruce can add more new signings to the squad before the start of the season. Since taking charge at the Stadium of Light, Bruce has brought in Fraizer Campbell from Manchester United and Paraguay captain Paulo Da Silva. Bruce has also failed with a raid on his former club Wigan Athletic for Lee Cattermole, and has been linked with bids for England strike duo Peter Crouch and Darren Bent. Jones has been impressed by Bruce's initial impact on Wearside and is keen to be part of a stronger squad after the Black Cats narrowly avoided relegation last term. "I think he's a good man and a good manager," Jones told Sky Sports News about his early impressions of Bruce. "Hopefully I will get to know him over the next few seasons. "I think things will click for us at Sunderland and we will be higher up the table than last season. "More than likely every team needs to strengthen and I think we do need to strengthen. "It's a good sign that bodies have been coming in and hopefully there will be quite a few more coming in to strengthen our team for the new season."
