Jermain Defoe seen as Darren Bents replacement.
Like for like strikers? It’s been bantered around now for a few days, and personally I don’t give it much chance of happening, but Spurs and England international Jermain Defoe is being linked to Sunderland in their search for a new striker (well three new strikers). Defoe hasn’t featured too much this season for both club and country mainly down to extensive injury problems, plus with Van Der Vaart also having a great season, first team action has been thin. But with it well publicised about Sunderland’s striker quest it’s easy to say he will be one of many players that is linked.
