It's A Tough Life Being A Premiership Player

The Sunderland first team squad is enjoying a warm-weather break in Dubai this week.

Sunderland took a light training session on Tuesday before being given the choice of afternoon golf or a visit to the mall.

Martin O’Neill: “The weather back home hasn’t been great for quite some considerable time, so this is good preparation for the last third of the season.

“It’s a pretty popular spot with a lot of the teams. I came here before when I was coach of Aston Villa and most of the players have been here before with their former clubs too, so it’s perfect.

“Because we don’t have to play on Saturday, we’ve at least a chance to settle down and prepare and not to be rushed for three or four days. It’s fine from that aspect.

"The rest of the season is going to be tough for us but I think if we can get a couple of days here it will give us renewed energy and enable us to finish the season as strongly as possible.”
