Interest flatters Apam

Onyekachi Apam is delighted to be attracting interest from Sunderland and Bordeaux. The Nigerian defender has risen to prominence after spending three successful years at Nice. At just 22 years old he is regarded as a fine prospect for the future and it has come as no surprise to find that clubs across Europe are starting to take note of his talent. The youngster is reluctant to leave France at present, believing his development will be better served in Ligue 1 for now, but has welcomed talk of a possible move to champions Bordeaux. A switch to Laurent Blanc's side would allow him the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League, and Apam admits he would find any offer difficult to turn down. "To be linked with Bordeuax is fantastic," Apam admitted. "I am 22 years old and I have a contract here in Nice until 2013, but the lure of a club like Bordeaux and the chance to play in the Champions League makes you sit up and take notice."
