Hull City manager Phil Brown has warned he will not accept 'other club's rejects' in place of Sunderland-bound Michael Turner.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is believed to have offered Nyron Nosworthy and Daryl Murphy as part of a deal.

But Brown, who has just signed Sunderland defender Paul McShane, insisted: 'I would not want rejects from other clubs. No disrespect to them, but we could be talking about players who have not been monitored by me.'

Meanwhile, Hull midfielder Ian Ashbee could be back within six months after knee surgery in Colorado.

Sunderland last night completed the signing of Lyon and Ghana defender John Mensah on a season-long loan. They have an option to make the move for Mensah, 26, permanent.
