Healy admits Cats struggles
01 May 2009 - 09:22:33
Striker David Healy has admitted that his first season with Sunderland has not been the success he had been hoping for.
The 29-year-old Northern Ireland ace has scored three times in 12 appearances for the Black Cats, having made a mere three starts for the Wearsiders to date.
He told The Chronicle: "It has been a disappointing season for me, no doubt about it, but it would be nice for me to finish it well and for the club to finish it well.
"Just getting more minutes on the pitch would be good and I would like to think I could make something happen if I had my chance.
"The groin strain did not come at the best of times, because training had been going well and I felt I was getting closer to more involvement in the first team.
"However, it has been fine in training and I have had no reaction to it. I am fully fit now and I just want get on with it.
"I just want to be able to contribute in any way possible in the games remaining and help us get the points we need to get past the post, so we can begin to think towards next season."
