Healy hopes to contribute

Forgotten man David Healy is determined to play his part in edging Sunderland over the finishing line this season. The 29-year-old Northern Ireland international has been a largely peripheral figure since his £1.5million move from Fulham to the Stadium of Light last summer with injuries, as well as a lack of opportunities, having taken their toll. However, with the Black Cats struggling for goals and having been plunged back into the fight for top-flight safety by last weekend's abject 3-0 defeat at West Brom, he is hoping his time could yet come. Healy said: "It has been a disappointing season for me, no doubt about it, but it would be nice for me to finish it well and for the club to finish it well. "I am hoping to get a bit more time on the pitch in the remaining few games. I would love to pop a goal or two in or set a goal up, like I did when I came on as a substitute in the away game against Middlesbrough, when I put in Kenwyne [Jones]. "But just getting more minutes on the pitch would be good, and I would like to think I could make something happen if I got my chance."
