Healy happy to stay
David Healy has stated he is keen to fight for his first-team place at Sunderland, despite failing to start a Premier League game since joining from Fulham.[LNB] The Northern Ireland ace left Craven Cottage for Sunderland last August, but injury has restricted the ex-Leeds hit-man to just 10 appearances for the club.[LNB]Despite the fact that Healy has only played 96 minutes of Premier League action this season, the 29-year-old has been told by manager Ricky Sbragia that he is part of his plans.[LNB]Healy has been linked with a move to SPL giants Rangers and while he is not dreaming of a move to Ibrox, he is flattered to be linked with the club.[LNB]In the manager's plans"I've spoken to the manager a few times and he's reassured me that I'm part of his plans," he told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"I'll keep working. I still know where the goal is, as a striker you don't forget that and hopefully come the run in, come the important games, I'll be helping out with a few goals.[LNB]"People are aware I've been disrupted by injuries, but it doesn't mean I want to leave Sunderland. It's never crossed my mind that I would go and play for Rangers.[LNB]"It's flattering at times to be linked with other clubs, obviously when I was at Fulham and wasn't playing. But I'm a Sunderland player. It's a huge club with huge potential." [LNB]
