Healy eager to contribute

David Healy is determined to seize any chance that comes his way during the final few weeks of the season.[LNB] The Sunderland striker has had few opportunities to impress since moving to the Stadium of Light from Fulham last summer.[LNB]He admits it has been a difficult period but he is keen to remind everyone of the sort of ability he possesses by playing a key role in the battle against relegation.[LNB]The Black Cats slumped to a 3-0 defeat against West Brom last weekend and Ricky Sbragia may decide to make changes in bid to increase his side's firepower.[LNB]"It has been a disappointing season for me, no doubt about it, but it would be nice for me to finish it well and for the club to finish it well," said Healy.[LNB]"I am hoping to get a bit more time on the pitch in the remaining few games.[LNB]"I would love to pop a goal or two in or set a goal up, like I did when I came on as a substitute in the away game against Middlesbrough, when I put in Kenwyne (Jones).[LNB]"But just getting more minutes on the pitch would be good, and I would like to think I could make something happen if I got my chance."[LNB]InvolvedJones and Djibril Cisse have been the preferred choice of both Roy Keane and Sbragia for much of the campaign to date.[LNB]Healy admires both players but, having shrugged off a groin injury that hampered his progress for some time, the Northern Ireland international is now ready to fight for a regular place.[LNB]"You can see why they (Jones and Cisse) have started plenty of games this season, and of course they have got plenty of goals to their name," Healy told the Sunderland Echo.[LNB]"Djibril's a danger to any side with his pace, and Kenwyne's a great physical presence. But maybe I can add something a bit different.[LNB]"My game is a bit more about getting around the pitch as much as I can and always trying to be involved.[LNB]"Obviously, I am here to get goals, but if needs be, I am sure I could contribute in other departments too - if we play a five-man midfield, for example, I think I could play in that.[LNB]"I just want to be able to contribute in any way possible in the games remaining and help us get the points we need to get past the post, so we can begin to think towards next season."[LNB]
