Sheffield United midfielder Greg Halford insists that he is putting thoughts of his long-term future on hold as he looks to help the Blades achieve promotion.[LNB] The 24-year-old is currently on loan from Sunderland until the end of the season and a permanent move to Bramall Lane has been mooted.[LNB]But the former Colchester ace has admitted that he has other options available to him and he will only consider them at the end of the season.[LNB]The Blades currently sit fourth in the Championship, eight points off an automatic promotion place as they look to get back into the Premier League.[LNB]"I've been asked this question a lot and I will always say the same thing in that coming here on a permanent basis is an option for me," Halford told skysports.com.[LNB]Paper talk"It is a really nice option for me to have, but not the only one available to me. I haven't spoken to Kevin Blackwell about it and it is purely paper talk at the moment.[LNB]"I'm sure I'll sit down with both Ricky Sbragia and Kevin about what their plans are and where I fit in with those plans, but at the minute I'm just concentrating on playing for the Blades and helping them fight for promotion."[LNB]After being in and around the play-offs all season, United have not been lower than eighth since the end of September, Halford admits he is not even contemplating missing out on the top six.[LNB]"We are not thinking about missing out on the top six because that would be such a disappointment it isn't worth thinking about," he added.[LNB]"We are aiming for the top two and the play-offs are a nice thing to fall back on should we miss out on the top two.[LNB]"But missing out on the play-offs isn't an option for us really."[LNB]
