Gyan settling well in England

Sunderland's record signing Asamoah Gyan feels he is acclimatising well to life in England after being eased in gently by Steve Bruce.[LNB] The Black Cats broke their transfer record to land the Ghana international, keen for him to provide an attacking ally for talisman Darren Bent.[LNB]Steve Bruce has opted to use his £13million man sparingly so far, despite seeing Sunderland struggle for goals this term.[LNB]His patient approach has been vindicated, though, as Gyan has scored three goals in his first two starts for the club.[LNB]The 24-year-old accepts that he needed time to adjust to the hustle and bustle of the Premier League but, having found the target in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Tottenham, he believes he is now ready to justify his hefty price tag and further his blossoming reputation.[LNB]"It has been a strange start for me here, but I am looking to do big things here," Gyan told skysports.com.[LNB]"I arrived here with a lack of physical strength, I was not fit.[LNB]"This league is no joke and when you are not fit, they find you out. But I am getting there.[LNB]"Scoring has always been my favourite thing and I scored against Spurs. It was fantastic to come away with a point from there because they are a fantastic team at home.[LNB]"I am settling well here in the North East.[LNB]"The derby defeat (a 5-1 mauling by Newcastle) was painful and we felt it as much as the supporters. Thankfully there is a return fixture to look forward to."
