Gyan on verge of Sunderland switch

Rennes striker Asamoah Gyan has arrived at Sunderland ahead of his proposed move to the Stadium of Light for a reported £12million.[LNB] Gyan, 24, caught the eye at the 2010 World Cup, scoring three goals for his country Ghana in South Africa.[LNB]Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is keen to bolster his frontline before the transfer window closes at 6pm on Tuesday, and Gyan has emerged as his top target.[LNB]It is understood that a deal in the region of £12million could be in the offing, set to be rubber-stamped following a medical and the agreement of personal terms.[LNB]Gyan joined Rennes from Udinese in 2008 and he has since scored 14 goals for the club.
