Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan is on top of the world after capping his Premier League debut with a goal at Wigan.[LNB] The Ghana international cost the Black Cats a club record £13million after joining from French side Rennes before the transfer window closed.[LNB]He made his debut at the DW Stadium on Saturday and put his side ahead with a fine volley, although Wigan fought back for a 1-1 draw.[LNB]Gyan praised Jordan Henderson for the cross which set up a goal the striker described as one of the best of his career.[LNB]"I think my goal was really nice. Perfect," he told the Sunderland Echo.[LNB]"The goal was very, very amazing and it was great that it was for my new club.[LNB]"Jordan (Henderson) did so well, taking one man on and producing a perfect cross to create my goal.[LNB]"It was one of my best goals, though - I don't score goals like that all the time!"[LNB]Sunderland did it the hard way after Lee Cattermole was sent off and Gyan was delighted with Sunderland's display away from home despite being a man light.[LNB]Gyan thought the dismissal would hinder his chances of getting on the field and he thanked Bruce for giving him a chance.[LNB] "It was really, really difficult for us after having a man sent off in the first half and, being a striker, I did not expect to get on because of that," Gyan admitted.[LNB]"I thought it was possible I might get on with 20 minutes to go, but the manager did so well tactically and I thank him for having confidence in me.[LNB]"The manager knows I am a typical number nine who can keep the ball on the flanks for the rest to join in.[LNB]"That was what he planned and it worked for him. I am someone who is unpredictable. I can score a goal at any time.[LNB]"Physically, I was on my feet and I did a dance after the goal, but I was really tired and did not want to continue."
