Gyan geared up for debut

Asamoah Gyan has pleaded for time to settle in England, but is looking forward to making his Sunderland bow.[LNB] The Ghana international became the Black Cats' record signing when they snapped him up from Rennes.[LNB]Having splashed out £13million to bring him to Wearside, Steve Bruce's side are looking for an immediate return on their investment.[LNB]Gyan, who admits he has fulfilled a dream by moving to the Premier League, hopes he can deliver the goods and is hoping to be handed his debut in Saturday's trip to Wigan.[LNB]"First of all, I want to help both Ghana and my new club win trophies," said the 24-year-old.[LNB]"I can only do well if I'm winning things at club and international level.[LNB]"But I don't want to get ahead of myself. The most important thing for me is to improve and mature as a player.[LNB]"Playing in England is a dream to many players, so I'm happy to be here.[LNB]"It's a big stage and I'm looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.
