PAOLO DI CANIO has handed starts to Matt Kilgallon and Connor Wickham in his first team selection since taking over as Sunderland manager.
Seb Larsson returns to the side ahead of today's trip to Chelsea, with the Italian coach opting to drop James McClean and Danny Graham to the bench for his first game in charge of the Black Cats.
Young professionals Mikael Mandron and Jordan Laidler are included on the bench.
For Chelsea, Rafa Benitez names John Terry, Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres on the bench as they contest their fourth game in eight days. Former Newcastle United striker Demba Ba starts upfront.
