Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon's terrible run of injuries has continued after the club confirmed the Scotland international had fractured a bone in his arm after falling awkwardly in training.
The former Hearts shot-stopper had to have a minor operation on Thursday and will miss the start of the season.
Gordon spent several months on the sidelines last season although he did manage to make 31 appearances for Steve Bruce's side.
Since moving to the Stadium of Light three years ago, injuries have restricted him to 79 appearances for the Black Cats.
Hungary international Marton Fulop, who ended last term on loan at Manchester City, has stepped in to replace Gordon on more than 40 occasions in the last three seasons.
