Fraizer Campbell set back, out for the rest of the season.

More damage done to an already damaged knee. Sunderland AFC have been struck with yet another massive injury blow, in the form of Fraizer Campbell, Steve Bruce has admitted he looks to be out for the rest of the season. Campbell is a much needed striker back up after Darren B£nt went in the search of a bigger pay packet, Campbell is one of only two first team strikers on Sunderland’s books with Danny Welbeck still the property of Manchester United and likely to stay that way. The 23 year old Campbell is one of the quickest runners in the premiership has played in only four games this season for the first team, after seriously damaging his knee ligaments against Manchester United. It was hoped that he would make an appearance before the end of the current season as he was making remarkable recovery, featuring for the reserves just last week. But Campbell now needs further specialist help after twisting the damaged knee in training just before Sunderland’s shocking defeat to Man City. It was hoped that a rest period would solve the new knock but clearly it has not. He will now have to go under the surgeon’s knife once again so that doctors can have a closer look at just what has gone on.
