Fletcher Set To Miss Three Crunch Fixtures!

25 March 2013 19:21
Steven Fletcher's knee ligament damage could not happen at a worse time for Sunderland as the crunch period in the Premier League approaches.

Sunderland's survival hopes have been dealt a massive blow as it is believed the Black Cat's top goalscorer is almost certainly set to miss a number of games – and only eight remain this season!

Fletcher could be out for at least the next two weeks – and the derby at St James’ Park on Sunday, April 14 is now also a doubt.

The 25-year-old returned to Wearside from Glasgow yesterday morning for a scan on his ankle.

The £12million signing has missed just one Premier League game since his arrival from Wolves and his absence would mean Danny Graham, who has failed to score since his move from Swansea, having to step up.

And to make matters worse, Stephane Sessegnon did not join up with the Benin squad as planned for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier with Algeria.
