Ferguson ready for kick-off
Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson believes his side "are ready for the Championship" after signing off pre-season with a 2-0 defeat to Sunderland.
Ferguson has guided his side to back-to-back promotions and insists that his young side have what it takes to compete in the second tier.
He said: "I told all the lads involved against Sunderland to make sure they impressed me to give themselves a chance of being in contention for Derby and they did that on the whole.
"There were plenty of positives. Our shape and balance were both good and I thought James McKeown was outstanding in goal.
"Pre-season has to go down as a success. We go into the season with only one injury, we have learned as we have gone along and we are ready for the Championship."
