ANTON FERDINAND has retained his place at right-back for Sunderland's Premier League visit of big spending Manchester City this afternoon.[LNB] Ferdinand, who could still leave if a suitable offer arrives for him before Tuesday's transfer deadline, has kept his place following a solid outing in midweek against Colchester United in the Carling Cup.[LNB] He is preferred to Phil Bardsley, only named on the bench, to come in and replace the ineligible Nedum Onuoha, who is unable to play against the club he remains contracted to for the long term.[LNB] Michael Turner is also due to start his first league game of the season, having missed the opening two fixtures through suspension.[LNB] City, meanwhile, include Easington-born winger Adam Johnson in their starting XI, as manager Roberto Mancini keeps the same team that outclassed Liverpool last Monday.[LNB] SUNDERLAND (4-4-2): Mignolet; Ferdinand, Bramble, Turner, Richardson; Elmohamady, Cattermole, Henderson, Malbranque; Bent, Campbell. Subs: Carson (gk), Bardsley, Zenden, Welbeck, Riveros, Waghorn, Colback.[LNB] MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-2-1): Hart; Richards, Toure, Kompany, Lescott; De Jong, Toure, Barry; Milner, Johnson; Tevez. Subs: Given (gk), Zabaleta, Wright-Phillips, Vieira, Silva, Jo, Adebayor.[LNB]
