Jonny Evans has hinted that he would welcome the chance to make his loan move from Manchester United to Sunderland permanent in the summer.
The teenage defender made 19 appearances for the Black Cats after moving to the Stadium of Light on loan in January and helped Roy Keane's side clinch promotion to the Premiership.
Evans is set to hold talks about his future with United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, but told Sunderland's official website: "I don't know what his thoughts are, but I'd like to find out.
"Not playing every week would take some adapting to. Like every footballer, I want to play games because that's what it's all about.
"But at a club like Manchester United, there's a lot of competition for places and as a youngster I couldn't expect to be playing week-in, week-out."
