Sunderland winger Ahmed Elmohamady is delighted to have been given the chance to fly the flag for Egyptian football in the Barclays Premier League. The Black Cats will formally complete a permanent move for the 23-year-old when his season-long loan deal from ENPPI expires in the summer. Elmohamady is one of a handful of his countrymen plying their trade outside Egypt and he is happy to have the opportunity to prove himself to a wider audience. He told the club's official website: "I am very pleased for my fans in Egypt that Sunderland want me to stay permanently. "Not many Egyptian players play outside the country and it is good for them to see people playing in Europe. "This is what they hope to see and it is very good for the game in Egypt."
