Ellis Short not happy with the African signings

Bruce has got some explaining to do. Apparently the latest rumour to try and disrupt Sunderland Football Club, is that American Billionaire and outright owner of the Black Cats is not happy with all the African signings that Steve Bruce has made following on from finding out about next seasons African Nations cup.  Ellis although he is the owner of a premier league club is still getting to grips with the world of football or soccer as he would call it, openly admits his lack of knowledge having Niall Quinn as chairman of the club to cover the footballing side, while he deals with what he does best being the money side of the club. Allegedly finding out about the African tournament meaning Sunderland will lose some of their biggest stars for up to 6 weeks, striker Asamosh Gyan for Ghana, midfielder Stéphane Sessegnon for Benin would be the two biggest losses.  Also Egyptian winger Ahmed Elmohamady who is currently on loan who will be signing in the summer, along with another two Ghanaians John Mensah and Sulley Muntari again both players are on loan but there is every chance they will be Sunderland players long before the event comes around. If and it is a big if Sunderland are to sign Man United striker Danny Welbeck he could also be on that list as both his parents are born Ghanaians, English born Welbeck has played for England once but it was only a friendly so he is still eligible to represent Ghana.  As the ruling states that he would have to play in a competitive international game before he can be deemed a full international for either England or Ghana.
