Sunderland winger Carlos Edwards is set to return to the squad for Saturday's visit of Chelsea.
The Trinidad & Tobago international has been sidelined since breaking his leg in December, but could be on the bench when the Blues visit the Stadium of Light at the weekend.
Edwards has been restricted to just five appearances this season after tearing a hamstring back in August.
"He's a livewire and someone who can upset the back four and it will be nice to have him back," Black Cats team-mate Phil Bardsley told the Northern Echo.
"Everybody seems to like a midfielder to sit and one to attack and a striker likes to get used to someone as his strike-partner.
"It's the same as a full back and you can get a good relationship going with the midfielder in front of you.
"He has great crossing ability and he has the ability to get in behind teams and hurt them that way."
