Oops! Cisse knocked out a fan with his wayward strike[LNB]Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has revealed that it was a training ground strike from Djibril Cisse that knocked out a fan, who subsequently sued the club.[LNB]Sunderland agreed a settlement with the supporter before closing the training ground to the public after it was agreed the open access policy was compromising the side.[LNB]Quinn revealed that Frenchman Cisse was the culprit when asked if the club would allow fans to watch the players train again.[LNB]Speaking on BBC Newcastle's Total Sport, Quinn replied: 'We had a supporter who got a bad injury. I think it was one of Djibril Cisse's misses where he had a shot from 20 yards.[LNB]'I'm making fun of it now, but it knocked a supporter out. It was quite serious.[LNB]Last month, Quinn said: 'We had several problems with open training sessions.[LNB]'As soon as something happened, everyone was Twittering and the world knew about it.[LNB]'Itwas a problem if there was an injury and it was a problem if word wasgetting out about how we set up for free-kicks or set-pieces.[LNB]'And there was also the issue of potentially having a training ground bust-up witnessed.[LNB] 'Those sort of things happen at every club from time.[LNB]'A fan was hit in the face and the club was sued and ended up with a settlement - that wasn't good.[LNB]'But it is something we are considering because we want to encourage fans and players to reconnect.'[LNB]Chiefexecutive Steve Walton, who is looking into the situation, said: 'We dohave issues with it, particularly with health and safety, but therecould be other options further down the line.[LNB]'We might look to create a show pitch in years to come which could give us a long-term solution. [LNB]'But we are also looking at having fans being able to watch the players at the stadium when they train there.'[LNB]  Colin Young: Sunderland thought their season was over but is this the start?Onuoha hopes to end City spell and make permanent Sunderland switchBruce fears as Sunderland slip closer to Premier League relegation scrapAll the latest Sunderland news, features and opinion [LNB]  Explore more:People: Niall Quinn
