Hammer time: Ba has moved to Upton Park

West Ham have signed striker Demba Ba on loan until the end of the season.

The Hoffenheim forward failed a medical at Stoke earlier this month and was also being tracked by Everton, West Bromwich and Sunderland.

But the 25-year-old Senegal international is joining Avram Grant's Hammers as they tried to haul themselves off the foot of the Premier League table.

'I'm really happy that the clubs have reached an agreement,' said Ba.

'I was eager to join the club and meet my new team-mates.

'I'd like to thank Hoffenheim for allowing me to join that team.'

Up for grabs: Cardiff and England striker Jay Bothroyd is on West Ham's wanted list

Defender Wayne Bridge has arrived on a similar deal from Manchester City while Grant has also been linked with Tottenham's Robbie Keane and Cardiff striker Jay Bothroyd.
