Darren Bent scored his first England goal and then insisted he has never given up hope of being a force at international level. [LNB]Bent has struggled to reproduce the form he has shown at club level when representing his country, but put the seal on an impressive 3-1 win over Switzerland with the third goal in the Euro 2012 qualifier in Basle. [LNB]The Sunderland striker said: 'It was great to score my first goal for England. I have had a few chances for England and been unable to put one away so I am delighted. [LNB] All over: Bent wraps up England's victory with the third goal in Switzerland[LNB]'Premier League-wise, I have a good record. It is nice to get one for your country. Hopefully now there are many more to come.[LNB]'I never thought my England chances would fade. It's disappointing when you miss out on the World Cup or a major tournament. [LNB]'But at the same time you have to keep your head down and keep working hard for your club. [LNB]'As long as my Premier League form is good, international football will never be too far away. [LNB]'I have started the season like I finished last season. Hopefully I can score more. I have always scored goals for my clubs. I have to let my football do the talking.'[LNB] Bent admitted: 'It has been frustrating sometimes (my England form) but I have to keep going and work hard. [LNB]Two good: Johnson scores the second for England[LNB]'When the chances come, you have to take them. My mum and dad, from when I could kick a ball until now, were my driving force. [LNB]'When I get on the coach I will phone them. Dad knows his stuff as he played football when younger. He always said never give up.'[LNB] Wayne Rooney and Adam Johnson were the other marksmen for England, who have taken maximum points from their opening two qualifiers. [LNB]Johnson, who scored for the second successive match as a substitute, said: 'We've come off the back of two great wins and everyone is happy. [LNB]'It's a great two results and we're looking forward to meeting up again full of confidence. [LNB]'The aim is to make a contribution. You're disappointed not to be starting and you want to do your best when you come on and try to push to get into the starting XI. I tried to do that and I've got a couple of goals.'[LNB] A true pro!
