Craig Gordon boost for Sunderland as keeper plans comeback

Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon could be back in action by the end of this month.

Gordon has missed the Black Cats' first three Premier League games and the start of Scotland's Euro 2012 qualifying campaign after breaking his arm during the summer.

But the 27-year-old former Hearts stopper is closing in on a comeback.

On the mend: Gordon is relishing his return to action with Sunderland

He said: 'I've been working in the gym and I hope to have done a bit of handling by the end of this week. I should soon be diving and it's a case of building it up.

'All being well, I'll be ready to start playing by the end of this month.'
