Colback casts doubt on Ipswich return

Former loanee Jack Colback looks unlikely to return to Ipswich next season as he concentrates on breaking into the first-team at Sunderland.[LNB] The youngster scored five goals in an impressive loan spell at Portman Road but upon returning to the Black Cats the 20-year-old had a Premier League debut to forget after being sent off for a second bookable offence in the final-day loss at Wolves.[LNB]"I know it's a big challenge but you've got to aim high," Colback told the East Anglian Daily Times. "I know how much quality there is in the Sunderland squad and I also know it is only going to get stronger.[LNB]"But I've had a successful season this time around and as long as I'm continuing to progress, I've got to be happy. The Ipswich move was good for me in so many ways but one of the ways I think it helped my game was in learning to become comfortable playing in different positions."[LNB]Meanwhile, Luca Civelli is hoping to make a successful return to pre-season training next month having only been able to undertake light training following a lengthy spell out with a serious knee injury.[LNB]Manager Roy Keane added: "Luca will join in with the rest of the group and there won't be any cotton wool wrapped around the boy. Making progress in the gym and out running is all well and good but on top of that football is about holding people off, twisting and turning and we won't know about that until pre-season."
