Verdict: You get the impression that Sunderland will do most of their spending in the summer. New manager Martin O'Neill did however bring in two defensive reinforcements by signing Wayne Bridge and former Liverpool centre back Kyrgiakos. A solid ending to the season should leave the club in a good position for next season.
