Cattermole was sent off for the sixth time in his Sunderland career at Hull earlier this month after being handed a straight red card for a challenge on Ahmed Elmohamady.
The midfielder will serve the final match of his subsequent three-game ban in this weekend’s trip to Stoke City.
A Sunderland XI will play against the non-league Quakers on Wednesday (kick-off 7.30pm) at Bishop Auckland’s Heritage Park ground.
Summer signings Valentin Roberge and El-Hadji Ba will also play.
Tickets are priced at £6 for adults, £4 for concessions and £2 for children.
