Cats hoping to pounce for Mensah again
Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn has confirmed the Black Cats hope to bring loan defender John Mensah back to Wearside ahead of the new season.[LNB] Mensah, who spent last season on loan with the Black Cats from parent club Lyon, is poised to make a decision over his future following Ghana's World Cup elimination on Friday.[LNB]Quinn said: "We haven't given up on bringing John Mensah back - we just couldn't bring him back on the terms we agreed last year. If we could get him on some kind of 'pay-as-you-play' deal, that would be ideal. [LNB]"We'll look at that, but I would imagine that Lyon will be looking for another club who will take on John and pay his wages in full, as we did last season."
