Sunderland captain Lorik Cana has joined the Herita Ilunga row after accusing the West Ham United defender of play-acting during Saturday's 2-2 draw between the sides.
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has already condemned the Hammers full-back for his reaction to being pushed by Kenwyne Jones.
"I would have smacked my kids' backsides if they had have done anything like that when they were playing football," claimed Bruce.
Jones was red-carded by referee Andre Marriner after Ilunga fell down holding his face when he had been shoved in the chest.
"He didn't really want to hurt him, he just pushed him a little bit," said Cana.
"It was the reaction of the opponent which got him the red card. It should have been a booking, but he made a lot of cinema out of it.
"We must learn to be a little bit more experienced in these situations."
