Campbell and Bramble miss out for Cats

STEVE BRUCE has had to reshuffle his pack after Titus Bramble and Fraizer Campbell both suffered injuries in the run-up to the Black Cats' visit to Manchester City today.

Campbell twisted his knee in training, while Bramble suffered cartilege damage and could miss the rest of Sunderland's Premier League campaign.

Michael Turner makes his return from injury and will slot into Sunderland's defence alongside John Mensah.

In midfield, Lee Cattermole makes his first start since recovering from a back injury and regains the captain's armband in the absence of Bramble.

Danny Welbeck will start either on the left side of midfield or partnering Asamoah Gyan. The two were both involved in the 1-1 midweek draw between England and Ghana at Wembley.

Two of Manchester City's starting XI were involved at Wembley, with Joe Hart and Joleon Lescott both starting. England skipper on the night, Gareth Barry, starts on the bench, while Easington-born Adam Johnson will start in midfield for City.
