Bruce up for Blues challenge

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce hopes his side's good record this season against the top teams will serve them well this weekend when they take on league leaders Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have won all but one of their home league games this term while Bruce's side have a dreadful away record. However, the Black Cats put up a good show against Chelsea at the Stadium of Light in August, despite eventually losing 3-1, and have drawn at Manchester United as well as beating both Liverpool and Arsenal already this season. Bruce said: "We were up against it in that first encounter against Chelsea at our place. "Chelsea played some unbelievably good football and might have swept us away in the second half. "But I remember that game and I remember that we scored first in the match and we also played extremely valiantly. "Then again, we've played very well against all the top teams this season and I hope we can do the same again tomorrow. "Certainly it's going to require something a little bit special from ourselves but we're refreshed in the wake of the last couple of weeks and we're up for the challenge."
