Bruce understands Wenger frustration

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce had some sympathy for Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger following the Black Cats' last-gasp equaliser at the Stadium of Light, but he insisted his side deserved their point.Bruce was jubilant after seeing his side fight back to claim a 1-1 draw as Darren Bent fired home in the fifth minute of injury time to cancel out Cesc Fabregas' freak opener, although he could understand Wenger's frustration. He said: "It's never easy to take when you concede in the last 10 seconds. I know how he feels - it has happened to us eight times in the 15 months I have been here and it is very difficult to take."I think the complaint is that we played 15 seconds over, but to be fair to the referee, there were times when Andy Reid was trying to get the ball out of the stands for a corner and the referee is right within his prerogative - it's a minimum of four minutes."You have to play to the whistle. I understand his disappointment, but it is our glee this time."
