Bruce relieved after lucky break

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce was grateful for a slice of luck as his side snatched a derby double from Newcastle's grasp at the death.Record signing Asamoah Gyan struck four minutes into added time at the end of a game in which the Black Cats had once again been far from their best following their 5-1 drubbing at St James' Park in October. However, the Ghana international knew little about it as the ball ricocheted off his chest and into the back of the net after keeper Steve Harper had blocked Phil Bardsley's shot.Bruce said: "The goal summed his afternoon up - it came off his chest and went five yards away from him."It was very difficult for him. He is another one who is learning. He has only been here three or four months."He is learning and the experience will do him the world of good as well."
