Bruce linked with Bentley deal

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is reportedly keen to land two Tottenham Hotspur players this week, as well as striker Darren Bent.

Bruce has been pursuing Bent for the last few weeks, but reports claim that he also has his eyes on a couple of his White Hart Lane team-mates.

Out-of-favour midfielder David Bentley is one star that Bruce wants to bring to the Stadium Of Light, a year after he moved to north London from Blackburn Rovers.

Harry Redknapp is keen to offload Bentley, who struggled to get in to the team when the former Portsmouth boss arrived at the club.

The other Spurs player Bruce is interested in is defender Michael Dawson, who is also likely to find himself on the sidelines under Redknapp this season.
