Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has hailed the fitness levels of new loan signing Alan Hutton, who has moved to Wearside from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old Scotland international has only started three games since the beginning of December, but Bruce has no concerns over Hutton's readiness.
He told the Sunderland Echo: "I know he's just arrived and I know he hasn't played many games this season, but that doesn't bother me at all.
"We've done all our fitness checks on him and although he's had a serious injury during his time at Tottenham, he's over that.
"I think he's actually the fittest player in the Spurs squad bar none, according to the information we've analysed.
"And the fact he hasn't played as regularly as he would have liked is not going to be an issue for him fitness-wise.
"The qualities that Alan brings to a side are fairly clear. He's a big lad, a powerful lad and he loves to get forward.
"He's a good solid defender, a player of genuine quality and he'll bomb up and down the wing all day."
