Bruce allows Kilgallon to join Boro on loan

Sunderland have allowed defender Matt Kilgallon to join Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season.
The 26-year-old former Sheffield United and Leeds United player had been linked with a move to Boro in January, only for Kilgallon to opt to join Steve Bruce's team instead.
However, he started only six matches for the Black Cats in the second half of last season and had been told by Bruce that he was surplus to requirements at the Stadium of Light this term.
Boro boss Gordon Strachan told his club's official website: "Matt can play left-back as well as centre-back. He gives us height as well as experience.
"There's a hunger there. I've explained to him that we're probably looking at a certain position to start with and we'll see how it goes from there."
