Bruce - Loss was harsh

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce felt his side could and should have taken something from their 3-1 loss at Burnley. The Black Cats dominated the first-half at Turf Moor, but still went behind to a Graham Alexander penalty. Darren Bent managed to level, but in the second-half Burnley sealed the win with two David Nugent goals. And Bruce was left thinking what might have been. "I don't think we deserved to lose," Bruce told Sky Sports. "I think Burnley scored two greats goal - the second and the third - but we looked a very good team in the first-half particular and we maybe should have been in front then. "Second-half we could have done better, but maybe we're a touch unfortunate that we are not getting something out of it." Bruce admitted Turf Moor was a tough place to go. "The whole crowd is up for it, they are in the Premier League and are delighted to be there and to be fair everyone gets behind them," he said. "But we are disappointed as we didn't hit the heights in the second-half, the first-half I was very, very pleased but the second half we didn't quite get there. "I am disappointed we haven't got something from it and we have yet to produce a full 90 minutes and we must improve to make sure it is a full overall performance. "We can't just rely on Darren Bent, others have to come to the party - he has had a wonderful start but other people have got to come and try and help him."
