Bruce to hand Lynch chance

Steve Bruce has hinted Sunderland youngster Craig Lynch will be given more chances to impress over the closing weeks of the season. The 19-year-old striker made his first-team debut as a substitute in the 3-0 Barclays Premier League defeat by Fulham last Saturday. Lynch has seen former youth-team player Jack Colback establish himself in the first team in recent weeks, and Bruce thinks the teenager could be the latest to profit from Sunderland's injury crisis. The Black Cats boss told the club's official website: "Lynchy has done particularly well in the reserves. "It wasn't a particularly nice time for him to come on but the boy has a bright future. Saturday will have done him the world of good. "I'm sure he'll have a chance of figuring in the last few games of the season. The injury situation has given the young lads a chance and a couple of them have grasped it."
